Matt Corker tells two stories in this DisruptHR presentation.
The first is about a pigeon that hitched a ride across town. The other is about a training program he created out of thin air at lululemon.
We’ll let you hear the two stories from him when you watch the 5-minute video of his Vancouver talk. But the stories share a common theme: If you want to get something done, sometimes you need to “go rogue.”
At lululemon, where he wore several hats over his 5+ years, Corker went rogue to launch the training program. “We broke all the rules, and guess what, we created an amazing new program that’s still the foundation today,” he says.
There are always obstacles to accomplishing things. Often enough, though, they are only excuses. “Argue for your limitations and they shall be yours,” Corker insists. “If there are rules in your company or your head that are holding your projects, your process and your people back, those rules are meant to be broken.”
