The S&P 1500 has more CEOs named John than women CEOs.
That telling statistic framed the DisruptHR talk by Tami Forman on how employers can go about “Making Space for Moms.” Despite the title, it would be a mistake to think Forman, executive director at Path Forward, was only about working mothers and mothers who wanted or had to work.
Path Forward may promote return to work programs for women with a break in service, but Forman said, “If we can begin to think differently about where, when, why and how work happens, we can open up our workplaces not just for moms, but for dads as well.

“The more you make space for people to have a life outside of the office, the better they’re going to perform when they are in the office. Flexibility is for everyone who wants to have a rich, full life that includes a great career and a great personal life.”
